GoDaddy and the Unexpected Response

Well I am shocked and surprised, but in a good way.  One day after my post about GoDaddy and Wordpress not being a good mix, a GoDaddy representative left a comment asking for more information on the issue.  I decided to take the time to email them, because if there is a solution, I still have the hosting packages and may be able to put them to good use.  I still don’t have the issue resolved.  They keep insisting that Wordpress permalinks work fine on their hosting packages and I received a response to my email stating, “Currently our servers use a caching technique for .htaccess files only. Because of this it can take up to an hour for that .htaccess file to be recognized and links to work.”  Through my research I was made well aware of this issue and every time I made changed the permalink option I would wait several hours and each time it still didn’t work.  Even though I don’t currently have a solution to my problem and still hoping for one, I am very impressed with the fact that GoDaddy is monitoring the internet for user comments about their services.  It is nice to see a company working towards making sure their customer’s are satisfied by going beyond traditional customer service methods and going where the conversations are.
